To subscribe is, really, in seconds. I have subscribed to Auckland Libraries, apparentley it has 5 links or blogs and I chose them all.
It will be very easy to use by customers, I believe.
I personally might use it, casue I like to read others blogs more than webistes, it add more thoughts to me and it is from people experience, especially the academic sort of blogs. I will promote it to "blog readers" customers, it is easier to find with all the other favourites stored.
I have tried the bookmarklet , and that was easy too,

Picapp photo gallery

this is a good site for images and photos,. Photos are clear and have a describtion with date, occasion and place.
I chose this photo because it can show the benefit of eBook Readers as they can contain all the books laying around in this photo in the one pad he has in his hands. it is magic.
I will definitely promote picapp to customers as it is an easy use website and good quality photos.

Box.net

Well O well, Box.net, it works very well with documents as they are having small size, apparently, but with photos it was along waiting with no use,
anyway "Stop complaining"
I think it is useful to keep docs on line andto share with others, it was easy to create an account, so defintley it will be useful for custoemrs who would like to save their docs when they do not have computers at home and no USB or other storage items.
It will be vry limited for work purposes, as we already have the N- drive to share docs so it won't be replaced by Box.net.
Apart fro measy access and create an account , I would rather recommend docs.google to create online docs and share it , it has more other application, and I think it is free , ther is no limit of 1 GB to be free.

That was a good practice, of some activites that I havn't done berfore, it is a good learning thanks for organizing it.

Week 6 : Facebook

I already have an account on facebook that I created long time ago, the purpose initially was to view photos of one of my friends in IRAQ about her trip to Turkey. a place that interesting me as a history and culture. So I signed in to find out that she only shares her whatever with friends , so I invited her to be a friend hoping that I 'll be able to view the photos, and I think I did that for so many times, and till now I havn't surprisingly!!!!
But, I have had collected a good number of friends that I come across by chance who are all living now all around the world, USA, Canada, Dubai, Hungary, Omman, england you name it , it is there .
I can tell that this is the good thing about it, to be able to contact someone you lost truck with and for a long time and see them how they are aging or see their children or even grandchildren.
Otherwise , if it is to be used to comment or say hi to someone who is living just cross the road, and being a "digital friend" to , that's a little bit wierd . I call this antisocilaizing. If to see many photos of a certain occasion that's could be the easiest way to do it, but to comment and tell them about my day and what I cooked for dinner that is really silly.

Week 5: Music files and MP3

That was just at the right time as I am reading about copyright, one of the main ethical issues developed with the increasing use of downloading music, I myself personelly against it at some extent, and find myself not very comfortable even using these websites although it says free and blablabla, I logged on almost all of them , these are very good spots to find songs that's not always available in the market and are not very popular. But the question here: those who always break the copyright law , can they use it to downlaod newish songs while the CD just pop up in market and for over $40 , cause this is the main reason why people downloading music I presume!!!!

Week 4:books and social networking

This is a good network for readers, I have joined it successfully, and will wait to see how it works for me then recommend it to customers, or may be I can do that and see how it works.
I can read on this network other people reviews. I was suprised to read one review that says "The thousand splendid suns" book, is funny!!!! The author has another book "the Kite Runner" I saw the movie though" I don't have the heart to read these books. it was disturbing and sad and thought the second book will be of the same style, but funny noway. now I want to read the book and see how funny it is.
As I am struggling nowadays to finish books am reading, and loose interest in them in the first 50 pages, may this network will attract me to some titles that might hook me, like the one above.

WEEK - 3 Twitter

which means in English:

that's what happened just today,
I am following Manukau libraries in twitter, and ticked one of the authors as well, I twitted a twitter there, you are all invited to read and decipher just like the one above,
for customers I might need to show someone on how to register if they really want to join and use with their groups or friends, but mainly those who use it are very adopted to ways to register, and won't be hard for them to od, so they go and ask a librarian!
It can be used in Manukau librareis website, where on twitter we can invite people to adult events happening in branches or teens and children's activities. it is easy and more practical to the new generation.

week 2 zamzar again

Well it is FFFFAAAAASSSSSTTTT I tried this time changeing a photo for jpeg to bmp ( I don't have any bmp to try vise verse which makes more sence) but it was just to try , and as I moved to my email it was there ready to download, it is just perfect to use.

week2 ZAMZAR

WOW!
that is really a good discovery for me, it is very fast and practical. I have used it last night at home around 10.30pm to convert a docx into pdf, I really don't need to do that but just for trial. opened it this morning and VOILLA! click download in ZAMZAR and in seconds it was there. This is really will benefit any one who would like to convert "any to any", customers, myself, staff, my family. I might show it to my study group as well. I will try to conver a photo later and will tell you all about it

Week1: Blogger

I have to say that I did not open my blog for a long time, and as usual, without writing my password somewhere, i would have to create a new one!!. This time I am going to use this blog as if it is from Highland PArk Library blogspot. Here I can promote newly recieved books to customers as one of my 6 months duty, or new DVDs (fan of movies), adult events, books sale, and other stuff!
I might suggest some journals that I pass by through my studying that could be useful for staff, or good websites to trial.
